Marist student Kevin Li attended the VEX World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri, USA earlier this term.

Thanks to the support of Samantha Dreon throughout the 2025–2026 VEX season, Marist robotics team 11337A exceeded expectations by qualifying for the VEX National Championships in Adelaide last year. Although the team did not progress to the World Championships, Kevin was recommended by friends from 63331A Ryde Secondary College to assist the Mechanical Team in developing a new robot design for the global competition.

Kevin played a pivotal role in the robot’s construction and design. His team went on to achieve an impressive 6 wins and 4 losses against 80 international teams before bowing out in the Round of 16 elimination stage. They concluded their campaign on a high note by winning the prestigious Inspire Award, which recognises outstanding character, professionalism, and community impact.
