Kevin Torpey was an Old Boy graduating in 1955. During this time at Marist he was a Prefect and House Captain graduating with 1st course Honours in Physics and recipient of a Commonwealth Scholarship. Whilst at University, Kevin was the Treasurer of the
Engineers Undergraduate Association. Kevin was involved in a number of major mineral projects as well as consulting to a number of companies involved in mining projects and technologies around the world.
In 2021, the Kevin Torpey Scholarship was established through the Old Boys Association at Marist College Eastwood. This scholarship was set up to provide assistance in further tertiary education for a student who aims to study in the area of Engineering or another Mathematical/Science based course.
It was an honour to have all three recipients attend the Old Boys meeting held recently – Damon Lam (2021), Jason Woo (2022) and Nicholas Solomonides (2023)
